Well, this is it. This is my first ever blog post. I can't say for sure exactly how this will go but I figure I might as well just dive in!
For those of you who may not understand those two words that appear to be in Spanish, just above what you are reading, let me give you an explanation! "La Primera", directly translated to "the first", is a piece of inspiration to me, in more than a few ways.
Firstly, I think Spanish is a fascinating language. The way the words seem to melt together and flow is so graceful... Significantly more graceful than I could ever be, I might add! I did in fact attempt to learn it at one point, but I can't say much for the outcome...
Secondly, "La Primera" is the title of a song by one artists that I have literally grown up listening to. Mr. Ian Tyson is one of the many prides of Southern Alberta and His songs about the cowboy way of life still resonate with me today. Heck, Navajo Rug was the first song I really remember even liking as a child! His words inspire me to continue living the cowboy lifestyle and this song, I felt, was fitting to help me begin this new endeavor! Fun fact: I used to work at Mr. Tyson's favorite restaurant!

Thirdly, this blog is, just what the title says; The First. It isn't by any means the first of its kind, but it is the first one that I have written and I hope it adds to the growing base of cyber agriculture awareness! Ian's song illustrates the resilience, adaptability, everlasting qualities and impact that the first horses that came to North America from Spain had on the new frontier. These are qualities that I hope my blog can embody! | |
